A solid reputation built on a foundation of excellence
Don Koppin and his team have been building beautiful living spaces for over 25 years in Bancroft, Barry's Bay, Apsley & Kawartha Lakes, Haliburton Highlands & Hastings Highlands and surrounding areas. Some of our favourite projects have taken us outside of our usual area, as far as Prince Edward County and beyond. Whether it is a first home, a retirement or vacation home, boathouse, studio, garage, or guest cabin, we'll provide a cohesive & cost-efficient, full-service building experience. From initial design, site planning, foundation and landscaping, right through to custom or out-of-the-box interior and exterior finishes, we'll listen to your needs, discuss your wish list, consider your budget, and establish a professional working relationship. See Our Commitment to You for information about contracts, warranties and our team commitment.
Original charm meets modern efficiency
We know that the various parts of your home must work together as a system of integrated components to create a comfortable, durable and energy-efficient living environment, and that changes made to one part of your home can positively or negatively affect other parts. For instance, replacing older windows and sealing air leaks will reduce drafts and save on heating costs, which is a good thing. But, as your home gets more airtight, additional ventilation may be needed to keep indoor air fresh and healthy. The use of a heat-recovery ventilator (HRV) offers an effective way to achieve this, while keeping heating costs down. We will show you simple ways to make your home more economical, comfortable, healthier and functional for you and your family. Did you know that adding a 1,000 square foot addition to your home can actually reduce your overall heating costs? We've spent years putting together a team of skilled, efficient workers and a pool of proven, reliable subcontractors that our customers trust to get the job done right - on time & on budget.
Efficient, sustainable & affordable
We emphasize environmentally-friendly construction, and are constantly researching innovative & alternative ideas, materials, methods & designs. A home that is resource-efficient is built tighter, is better insulated, produces less toxins, uses less water, is more evenly heated and cooled, and is therefore more comfortable for your family, more durable, and less costly to operate and maintain. A healthy building is one that is designed, constructed, and operated using a 'house-as-a-system' approach. Just as your car is made up of interacting components and systems, the same goes for a building: when one component fails to fulfill its purpose, the performance of the whole is affected. Our crew is fully trained in Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) construction. An ICF home has significant advantages over an ordinary wood framed home. The greatest benefits come from increased energy efficiency and comfort; others include better indoor air quality, fire resistance, noise reduction, flexibility, structural shape and durability.
