The owners had enjoyed many memorable years in their original cottage on this site. We replaced it with this fabulous Viceroy, with two-storey ceilings in the great room, a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace and spacious screened porch. The huge deck overlooks one of the most incredible waterfront views in cottage country!

In order to provide this busy family with a more functional and less cluttered kitchen, space was added by removing a wall & re-locating the laundry room. The hardwood floor in the new space was matched to the original, new lighting was retrofitted into the ceiling beams, the adjacent living room fireplace was given a new façade and decorative trim and built-ins were added. The results are spectacular!

"We purchased a winterized cottage in 1987 and the original plan was for it to be demolished and rebuilt. But, we started to renovate and have rebuilt the house over time with virtually every wall being opened. Don Koppin was involved with another builder early on, and over time started his own contracting company and has assumed the duties as "our contractor". I value his advice, expertise, and, his insistence on doing things "right" and in ensuring each project is as "green" as possible. Our recent kitchen renovation was wonderful and makes such a difference to our family. When the unexpected crops up, Don and his crew rise to the challenge. Our next idea is to install alternative energy sources and we hope to have an ongoing relationship with "our contractor"."

After searching for years for a suitable larger cottage, these owners decided to renovate on this level site they loved on Bay Lake. The original cottage was transformed, adding a second storey and fabulous windows that take full advantage of the waterfront views.

We had a bungalow cottage completely renovated with a second storey added. From the beginning, Don and his staff took care of plans, permits, and local by-laws. The construction went smoothly and we were consulted anytime there was a concern or tentative problem. The communication, confidence of workmanship and honesty displayed by Don and his crew were pivotal in making our renovation successful.

We were extremely happy with everything that was done. We had a new kitchen installed and all new windows, which turned out to be a lot more work than was anticipated, but Don's crew just took it in their stride & did a wonderful job. We had a 4-seasons room added on, and it took a good bit of time & effort, but again the crew did a super job. All the tradesmen that Don deals with are first rate. Don and his foreman were always easy to reach and kept us up to date on all stages of the work, something we really appreciated. We look forward to many happy years in our new retirement home. I would not hesitate to recommend DKGC & if in future we require any other work done, we will certainly contact Don.
