"It was certainly a comfort to know we were dealing with a contractor we could trust absolutely, who listened to our needs, and who cared about our family."

A small Craftsman-style bungalow was transformed into a spacious, 2-storey home for a newly-blended family. The roof was removed, the lower level was doubled in size, and a second storey was added. New & old features were merged: a large master suite with glass shower, jacuzzi tub, walk in closets & garden view balcony in the new second storey, a reclaimed fireplace mantle, built-in bookcases and bay window seat with storage in the existing living and dining rooms.  A custom, open concept kitchen and entertainment room, 4-piece bath and guest room completed the main floor. Craftsman-style oak trim, staircase and hardwood floors were seamlessly matched to the original. A new, spacious front porch and back deck extended the family’s lifestyle outdoors. With all new insulation, this house, which has more than doubled in size, costs less to heat and cool than the original.

“Expanding our Craftsman-style bungalow to accommodate an extended family was no easy challenge. After a disappointing search for suitable contractors, we knew that Don was the only one we trusted to achieve our vision.  Don incorporated the unique character of our old house into the design of our beautiful new two-storey home to create a welcoming gathering place that we love. Both he & Victoria helped us to keep our budget in line by resourcing period architectural salvage, helping us to select suitable building materials and fixtures, and by giving us well-researched options. It was certainly a comfort to know we were dealing with a contractor we could trust absolutely, who listened to our needs, and who cared about our family." - MICKI & BRIAN
